Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Nominated for Medal of Freedom

Spotlight On Success

Spotlight On Success is the culminating activity for students participating in Beyond the Bell's leadership campaign, Take Action. Thousands of students from throughout the District take part in workshops and showcase their talents.

Challenge LA

Challenge Los Angeles is a seven-week competition in which teams of students from various Los Angeles high schools are challenged to develop solutions to complex problems facing their communities. Read the program to learn about the students, judges, and challenges addressed.

NorthwestFest

Northwest Fest showcases programs, opportunities to personalize education. More than 1,000 parents, students, teachers and administrators turned out Saturday for the inaugural Northwest Fest 2016, a bonanza showcasing arts and academic programs offered at dozens of San Fernando Valley schools. <more...>

Academic Decathlon

L.A. Unified will send 13 teams to the state decathlon in Sacramento, which will be held March 17-20. Those schools, in ranking order, are Marshall, Franklin, El Camino Real Charter, Garfield, Bell, Van Nuys, Grant, Narbonne, Hamilton, North Hollywood and first-timers Cleveland Charter and Lincoln.

Camp Skyhook

Help 'Give Kids a Shot that Can’t be Blocked!' by sending a child to Camp Skyhook.
Camp Skyhook helps bring Los Angeles under-served kids closer to nature while teaching them new skills that will encourage them to seek a profession in the highly sought after fields of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
