Jazz Blues & Beyond Music Festival 2018

With spring in the air, music and the arts come into bloom.  In the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), special event performances, both in and out of school, are in high demand. . Migrant Education Program (MEP) has offered workshops to high school seniors who want to go to college for four years.  Migrant Program Technician, Roger Romero, organized an event in January at Stevenson Middle School.  He showed students how to apply on-line for scholarships and Angela Mora, Pupil Service Attendance Counselor, provided instruction on writing effective personal statements for applications.                  Special attention was given to applications for the Drew Silvern Dollar......

LAUSD Decathlon Teams at the Top Again

Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) wins again!  For the 9th year in a row an LAUSD school has outscored all other regional front runners to become California’s 2018 Academic Decathlon State Champions.  El Camino Real Charter High School topped the charts with a total score of 61,612.40 at the annual competition.  Granada Hills Charter High School placed a close second with a score of 60,949.20.  In fourth place from LAUSD was Franklin Senior High School with a score of 57,737.40.
