Beyond the Bell Releases Evaluation Report of BTB SES Tutoring Program

This report describes the participants, participation levels, and outcomes of the 2012-2013 LAUSD Beyond the Bell Tutoring program for Supplemental Education Services (SES). Outcomes measured include students’ changes in Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI) Lexile and Scholastic Mathematics Inventory (SMI) Quantile Levels. Relationships between Beyond the Bell Tutoring participation and these key outcomes are examined.During the 2012-2013 school year, a total of 709 Kindergarten through 12th grade......

21stst Century Community Learning Centers (21stCCLC)&21st Century High School After School Safety and Enrichment for Teens (ASSETs)The 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) and 21st Century High School After School Safety and Enrichment for Teens (ASSETs) programs are federally funded partnerships between schools and communities that provide safe and exciting learning, health, social services, cultural and recreational programs before school, after school, and on weekends for elementary and middle school students.  BTBB’s partners include large and national organizations, local grass-roots and community-based organizations, universities and foundations.The 21st CCLC and ASSETs program strives to bring back the most at-risk children and youth into a safe educational environment that is inviting and one in which they feel that they can succeed.  Paid and volunteer mentors and tutors, as well as teachers working after-school, help to care for, assist and educate students.The 21st CCLC and ASSETs grant applications are now available.  Private schools are eligible to apply individually for grants or as private school consortia.  Private schools may also work with public school districts to see if the districts can accommodate your eligible students on an equitable basis within the public school’s grants. Beyond the Bell will be applying for 21st CCLC and ASSET funds for all eligible LAUSD schools and Dependent Charters. PrivateLAUSD schools or community organizations interested in  the collaborating/partnering with LAUSD – Beyond the Bell Branch schools are invited to participate in an informational meeting scheduled as follows:DATE:                        Thursday, November 7, 2013TIME:             1:00 p.m.LOCATION   Los Angeles Unified School District (Headquarters)                        333 South Beaudry Avenue                        Los Angeles,  CA  90017                        Second Floor, Conference Room 131Parking is located at the Visconti Apartments at Miramar and Huntley Drive.  We can validate for this parking lot ONLY.  DO NOT park in the 333 S.
