Challenge Los Angeles is a seven-week competition in which teams of students from various Los Angeles high schools are challenged to develop solutions to complex problems facing their communities. The activity is designed to promote civic responsibility; leadership skills; inter-peer collaboration; and engagement with experts, entrepreneurs, and global visionaries among students. This year, challenges were presented at a kick-off meeting on January 23 in areas such as financial literacy, public health, and environmental conservation. Challenges were presented to a panel of judges on March 12. This year's winning team from Arleta High School has been invited to a special dinner on the eve of We Day and will have opportunities to participate in leadership activities around the Los Angeles area.
