Beyond the Bell’s 2016-2017 TAKE ACTION CAMPAIGN (TAC) kicks the New Year into high gear at its annual Pt. Fermin leadership camps. Nestled atop the San Pedro bluffs, Pt. Fermin provides students with breathtaking views of Santa Catalina and the Channel Islands., This is the training ground where sophomores and juniors continue developing as leaders in their communities and gain the necessary talents to plan and implement effective Arts, Civics, and STEM campaigns at their high schools.
Students who attend Pt. Fermin’s 3-day, 2-night immersive camps are treated to unique experiences. They commune with nature on a GPS-guided night hike, learn about marine life at the Cabrillo Aquarium, observe wildlife care at the Mammal Care facility, and reflect on their time at camp with the new friends they’ve made by the Korean Bell of Friendship.
Students participate in a series of comprehensive workshops designed to heighten their awareness of the campaign’s events, activities, and opportunities. They engage in robust teambuilding exercises and develop their aptitude for event planning, marketing, and execution. When students leave Pt. Fermin, they do so well-equipped with an all-encompassing view of TAKE ACTION and the essential skills needed to implement an effective campaign.
