The LAUSD Beyond the Bell All District Honor Band celebrated its 46th annual appearance of marching in the Tournament of Roses Parade. The band is comprised of dedicated LAUSD High School students who give up all of but two days of their winter break to learn music, marching and teamwork. This year 54 high schools were represented in the program that started meeting in October of 2017. This band of enthusiastic and dedicated students only had 14 rehearsals to put together performances for Disneyland, Tournament of Roses Band Fest (Pasadena City College) and of course the Tournament of Roses Parade on January 1, 2018.
||The All District Band is one of four bands that holds the distinction of being an "Honor Band" because of its annual invitation to participate in the Tournament of Roses Parade. The band prides itself on performing music that everyone can relate and dance to. This year the band performed songs such as Get Ready, Feel it still, Spanish Skies, Let's go, and Patriotic Salute.
This December the All District Band performed for a crowd of thousands at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum during the Los Angeles Rams football halftime show. The band performed in the historic Los Angeles Coliseum over 30 years ago for other LA Sports teams. The "All City Band" (as it is also known), will perform again at the 2018 Kingdom Day Parade that will be held on Monday, January 15.
