Summer Programming 2018 (Updated 6/13/18)

Summer Term for High School Students

Students enrolled in Los Angeles Unified School District high schools during the 2018 spring semester and who need to recover credits for D or F grades are eligible to enroll in up to two classes at any of the available high school Summer Term sites. The program will be held from June 18 through July 20 with no school held on July 4 in observance of the Independence Day holiday.  Classes will be held daily from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Meals will be served during a half-hour nutrition break between classes.  Any eligible student may attend any Summer Term site. 

Academic Support at Select Middle and Elementary Schools

The Extended Learning Opportunity Summer Program will be available at select elementary, and middle schools.  This program is designed to help children in elementary grades meet grade-level standards in English language arts and English language arts or mathematics standards for Middle School grade students.  The program will be held June 18 to July 13 from 8:00 a.m.-11:50 a.m with a meal provided during or after the school day.  Student enrollment is based on eligibility, priority, and available space.  

Summer Portable Pool Water Safety Program
Summer of 2018 will see the return of the Beyond the Bell Branch Portable Pool Water Safety Program. Since it began in 1963, the Portable Pool Program has been a fixture in summer programming for Beyond the Bell. Aligned with California’s water conservation and recycling initiative, the program will be offered at LAUSD elementary schools with a rotation at each site. The schools are TBD .

Please visit our new website, for activities in the community. If you have or know of a safe and free summer program for school age children tell us about it!. The LAUSD can not verify the quality of these programs. We offer this service to support parents. Parents must exercise due diligence by visiting these sites on a regular basis to assure the safety their respective child.
