Extended Learning Opportunities for Summer Success
Posted 9/5/18

The ELOS Program provided summer learning for 14,900 elementary and middle school students across the district.  Teachers offered review and enrichment at 119 different schools to help students keep up their skills over the summer.  Students in grades K-8 participated in daily lessons with learning game and every class attended a field trip to an interesting local destination.  When asked which part of the ELOS program had the greatest value, one teacher responded, “Honestly, it was just attending!  Many students told me that they don’t want ELOS to end.  Having the opportunity to keep learning (in a smaller setting) during the summer truly benefits students that need more support.”
